COMPLICATIONS OF CHLAMYDIA

Posted by admin on March 6th, 2009 filed in Sexually Transmitted Diseases

Sometimes, it happens that the complications caused because of the long-term infection are much difficult to deal as compared to that of the uncomplicated chlamydia. So, it is always suggested to check early for chlamydia, instead of being troubled with the complications. If left untreated, can lead to or be associated with other health problems, such as:

  • Women infected with chlamydia have more chances of acquiring HIV, than normal ones.
  • People having chlamydia may also be at risk of being infected with other sexually transmitted infections, such as gonorrhea and syphilis.
  • PID, an infection of the uterus and fallopian tubes.
  • Chronic pelvic pain.
  • Infertility.
  • Epididymitis.
  • Prostatitis.
  • Rectal inflammation.
  • Eye infections.
