Arachibutyrophobia also referred to as “a persistent, abnormal, and unwarranted fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth”. This is one of the most common problem, that significantly affects the quality of life, and causes countless people needless distress. It leads to panic attacks and distances the loved ones and business associates.
Similar to other fears and phobias, Arachibutyrophobia is just because of the unconscious mind as a protective mechanism. It is quite possible, that at some time in the past, one liked to have peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth and emotional trauma. This condition can also be triggered, by a real-life scare of some kind, a situation triggered by myriad, benign events like movies, TV, or perhaps seeing someone else experience trauma.
Symptoms typically include shortness of breath, rapid breathing, irregular heartbeat, sweating, nausea, and overall feelings of dread, although everyone experiences this fear in their own way and may have different symptoms.
Even though a large number of drugs are often prescribed for arachibutyrophobia, side effects and/or withdrawal symptoms can be severe. Moreover, the drugs do not “cure” arachibutyrophobia or any other phobia. The best they do, is tend to temporarily suppress the symptoms through chemical interaction.
This word is in Greek itself, so the French word would be the same, as technical terms like that do not translate.
